From the Boiler Room to the Museography: The Historical Evolution of Boscodon Abbey
At the southeast corner of the cloister is the boiler room, a special space, as it was the only room in the monastery, in the Middle Ages equipped with a heating system. Today, this room houses a museum that traces the history of the abbey, from its foundation in the 12th century to its occupation by peasants in the 20th century.
In addition to its historical role, the boiler room allows visitors to discover the monastery's old kitchen, a witness to the monks' daily life. It also explores the history of the abbey's restoration work and the dynamics of the Friends of Bosocdon Abbey association, which has been working for over 40 years to preserve and make this site accessible to all.
