The unfinished command post of the Lame battery, built in a hurry in 1938-1939 but never completed, was intended to be the operational command post for the entire fortified sector of the Briançonnais.
This post, dug into the rock, is located at the foot of an old quarry, opened in the 18th century during the construction of Fort Dauphin. From the outside, only two metal doors and three rectangular openings in the cliff are visible.
