La chapelle Sainte-Marie-Madeleine des Escoyères

Scholars and local historians agree that Les Escoyères is where the history of the Queyras region began. Numerous relics confirm the area's status as the 'historical cradle' of the Queyras: ancient tombs, funerary objects, a 12th-century priory and, above all, two fragments of a Latin stele that were reused as lintels for a side door of the chapel dedicated to Sainte Marie-Madeleine, which predates the 16th century and has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1932.
