La Chapelle Saint-Simon
Molines-en-Queyras
'It appears that Saint Simon is not the apostle but a monk who retired from the Petit Monastère de Molines, which was once located near the church of Saint Romain. He is said to have left his name to both the woods and the chapel. What started life as an oratory near a fountain with miraculous virtues was transformed into a chapel and destroyed many times (by an avalanche, by the Protestants, by the revolutionaries...). But the last building was inaugurated on 6 August... in 1866!
Near this chapel are the Clôt l'Henry hut and the Sommet Bucher orientation table.'
