Monument aux morts
Montclus
The last stonemason in Montclus, Léon Bros, made this monument from a block of limestone quarried in the Montclus Gorge. The remains of the quarry can be seen at the first bridge from Montclus towards Serres. This local artist, who died in 1952, made the most of this massive, resistant rock, etching forever the memory of the soldiers who perished in battle.
Planted in 1989 to commemorate the bicentenary of the French Revolution, a majestic cedar and its protective shade inspire respect.
