The upper entrance to the Cité Vauban is protected by a defensive system comprising two drawbridges, a half-moon on which a guardhouse stands, solid studded wooden doors and a portcullis.
The inhabitants of the Cité Vauban, in costume, will pull up the Gargouille and close the portcullis at the Porte de Pignerol.
